: Fighting Tumors, One Life at a Time

Last Wednesday, June 11, JCI Manila—together with Dalta Jonelta Foundation, Inc. and Perpetual Help Medical Center - Las Piñas—held the third awareness leg of the comprehensive cancer program, launched last February 2025.

This Cancer Awareness and Palliative Care Presentation, led by Dr. Agnes Calata and the Family Medicine Team, provided vital education and emotional support for patients and their families. These lectures are part of our holistic KANser mission—Knowledge, Action, and Nurture—which approaches cancer treatment with information, early intervention, and compassionate care.

Since the program’s launch, 6 tumor removal surgeries have already been successfully completed, 9 more are scheduled this June, and another 10 are in the pipeline, thanks to the ongoing fundraising efforts of the BJC Committee.

The event also marked the official launch of the Palangga Cancer Club, the DJFI’s newly formed cancer support group, which aligns with our mission to not just treat—but to care, support, and journey with—every cancer warrior and their family.
