The Provincial Health Office (PHO) actively participated in an outreach activity initiated by the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) for the children temporarily staying at the Buang Evacuation Center in Tabaco City, following the Mayon Volcano eruption.

The initiative aimed to support the affected families, particularly the children, by addressing both their health education needs and psychosocial well-being. The PHO conducted a health teaching session focusing on essential basic hygiene practices such as proper handwashing, correct tooth brushing techniques, and the importance of proper nutrition to maintain good health even in evacuation settings.

In addition to health education, the team also facilitated psychosocial support activities through interactive games and coloring sessions, providing the children with a safe and engaging space to express themselves, reduce stress, and promote emotional well-being amid their displacement.

The activity reflects the continued commitment of the Provincial Health Office and partner agencies in delivering holistic health services to communities affected by disasters.

𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐒π₯ πŸπŸ‘, πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ” || The Albay Provincial Health Office – Population Development Division (APHO–PDD) successfully conducted an in-house training on Managing Stress, alongside a seminar on Mental Health Awareness at the Albay Provincial Human Settlement Office (APHSO), APSEMO Building in Legazpi City. The activity was facilitated by Dr. Ryan S. Altavano, RN, MAN, MNE, and Kyle Justin B. Bahillo, RPm.

The activity brought together the participants in a meaningful discussion on the importance of mental health, aiming to deepen understanding, break down stigma, and encourage open conversations around mental health issues. It also equipped attendees with practical coping strategies and guided them on recognizing when support is needed, who to approach, and how to extend help to others.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Pinangunahan ni Albay Governor Noel Ebriega Rosal kasama ang mga kinatawan mula sa Department of Health Bicol, Albay Provincial Health Office ang blessing ng kagamitan sa Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital ngayong araw, ika-17 ng Abril.

Ayon sa gobernador, ito ay mga dagdag na ekipahe na gagamitin sa naturang ospital na mayroon nang aprubadong License To Operate mula sa DOH.

Ilan lamang sa mga panibagong ekipahe ay ang 32 slides CT scan, general ultrasound, obstetrical/pregnancy ultrasound, spirometry test/stress test machine, at ang pulmonary function test.

Dagdag pa ng gobernador, libre ito sa lahat ng indigent na pamilya sa lalawigan na mayroong PHILHEALTH Card, at maaari rin itong icharge sa MAIFFIP, maging sa mga counterpart LGU sa Albay.
