The Autism Care Act is moving forward, but this is also a reminder that support should extend to the entire disability community. Many laws in the Philippines already protect the rights of persons with disabilities, but awareness and proper implementation remain important.

Every child, every adult, and every family deserves access to services, protection, and true inclusion. 💙

𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 + 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 💙

Marami ang nakakita ng balita na ang 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁 (𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟭𝟴𝟮𝟮)ay pasado na sa 2nd reading sa Senado. Good news ito dahil layunin nitong gumawa ng 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 — para mas maging organized ang screening, services, at support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Pero habang pinag-uusapan natin ang autism, mahalaga ring tandaan na 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀.

Nagbibigay ng 20% discount at VAT exemption sa medicines, medical services, transportation, at iba pang basic needs.

📌 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝟵𝟰𝟰𝟮 – 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗪𝗗𝘀
Pinapalakas nito ang proteksyon laban sa discrimination at nagbibigay ng mas malinaw na penalties sa mga lumalabag sa karapatan ng PWDs.

💡 Ibig sabihin: habang may mga specific bills na nakatuon sa isang disability (tulad ng autism), may mga 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝘀𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Ang tunay na goal ng advocacy ay hindi kung sino ang “𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻,” kundi kung paano 𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗟𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 - bata man o adult.

Most of us grew up thinking there are only 5 senses. But three more quietly shape how kids move, feel, and function every day: balance (vestibular), body awareness (proprioception), and internal body signals like hunger or thirst (interoception).

These “hidden” senses affect attention, emotions, posture, coordination, and even daily routines. Understanding them helps us respond with more support and less judgment when kids seem restless, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their bodies.

Did you grow up learning we only have 5 senses?
Sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell were just the beginning.

There are three hidden sensory systems that play a HUGE role in how kids move, feel, and function every day, but they often get overlooked:
