On October 24, 2025, the TRC-Guidance and Counseling Center, in collaboration with the TRC-Office of the Student Affairs, successfully conducted a meaningful seminar that shed light on the importance of recognizing and responding to the silent struggles of our students. This initiative aimed to deepen our understanding of student mental health and the quiet battles often hidden behind classroom smiles.

With our invited resource speaker, Dr. Manuel M. Gabriel, RGC, the session inspired faculty members to become advocates of empathy and understanding within the classroom, and help build an academic community where compassion is not only taught and spoken but genuinely lived.

In celebration of World Mental Health Month, the TRC-Guidance and Counseling Center led a heartfelt seminar that opened a safe space for students to pause, reflect, and remind themselves that their feelings are valid and that healing is a journey, not a race.

With our inspiring speaker, Redge Ainne P. Labios, RPm, students were guided through meaningful discussions and reflections on understanding and nurturing mental well-being.

Through stories and shared experiences, we were reminded that mental health is not just about surviving, but about learning to live with kindness toward ourselves and others.

Starting college is a big step - exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. New environment, new responsibilities, heavier workloads, and higher expectations can sometimes lead to stress, anxiety, feelings of sadness, and self-doubt. And that's okay. Those experiences are real, and deserve to be talked about.

The TRC-Guidance and Counseling Center invites all first-year college students to our Mental Health Awareness Seminar, a safe and supportive space that aims to help you understand mental health concerns and how to take care of your emotional well-being amid life's changes.

Together with our resource speaker, Redge Ainne P. Labios, RPm, let's journey toward a more balanced and mentally healthy college experience.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day!
In this world, we live in a society where just talking about mental health leads to judgment. It's a place where people with heavy hearts are expected to carry on as if nothing is wrong.
But today, let's break that silence. Let's remind one another that it's okay to seek help, to pause, and to feel. Behind every smile, there may be unseen battles. Let's be kind to others and to ourselves because healing begins with understanding.
Maging liwanag tayo sa isa't isa. Sa pag-unawa, pakikinig, at pagkalinga, unti-unti nating binubuo ang isang mundong mas maayos para sa ating lahat.

October marks the World Mental Health Month πŸ’š

Mental Health is a universal human right. Through Republic Act No. 11036 or the Philippine Mental Health Act, we are reminded that every Filipino deserves accessible care, protection from stigma, and support in schools, workplaces, and communities.

This World Mental Health Month, let us continue to recognize mental health as a fundamental part the overall well-being and a right that must be respected and protected for all. πŸ’š

Healing is possible, and there are people who want to help you find your way back to the light. Be kind, be present, and let's create a world where everyone feels seen and supported.

On September 11-16, 2025, the TRC Guidance and Counseling Center spearheaded a Values Seminar intended for the Junior and Senior High School students of Tomas del Rosario College. This meaningful journey is guided by our resource speaker, Rochelle R. Villarias, MAEd, with the themes "Fostering a Love for Oneself and Respect for Others: Building a Harmonious Community" and "Beyond the Self: Building Healthy Connections from Friendships to a More Intimate Relationship."

The goal of this seminar was to enrich the students' understanding of themselves while fostering empathy, respect, and meaningful relationships. It served as a reminder that true growth begins when we look beyond ourselves and nurture the connections that shape our character and community.

In a world that may seem overwhelming, it's necessary to bear in mind that you're not alone. September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month and an opportunity to shed light to the darkness of suicidal thoughts while also offering hope and support.

Let's change the narrative and break the stigma associated with mental health, and build a community in which everyone feels at ease and seen. Remember, help is available. You are not alone, and there will always be a reason to keep going. πŸ«‚

Start the conversation, promote mental health education, and encourage healthy communication.

We are with you, Del Rosarians. πŸ’š
