HALLELUJAH!

In the spring of 1742, King George II rose to his feet as the first notes of the triumphant ‘Hallelujah’ chorus rang out. Royal protocol has always demanded that, whenever the monarch stands, so too does everyone in the monarch’s presence. Thus, the entire audience and orchestra stood. King George II had accepted that he too was subject to the Lord of lords and King of kings.

The word ‘Hallelujah’ is an invitation to worship – it literally means ‘Praise (Hallal) the Lord’ (Yahweh). It occurs twenty-four times in the Old Testament (mainly in the Psalms). In fact, the last five psalms (Psalm 146–150) each begin and end with ‘Hallelujah’. The Psalms, as with the New Testament and the whole Bible, end with exuberant praise, blessing and delight. and it occurs four times in the New Testament.

Wait For Instructions
A patient limped into the dictor's clinic. The doctor gave the patient a large pill. As the nurse asked him questions, the patient limped over to the sink and swallowed the pill.
The doctor returned with the bucket and said,"Now drop the pill in the bucket and we'll soak your foot."
Always wait for instructions or you may just put your foot into your mouth.

GRATEFUL OR GREATFUL?
(Luke 17:11-19)

The ten l***rs were covered with cuts and bruises and sores. No one knew how to make them better. They had to leave their families so they wouldn’t make them get sick, too. When JESUS healed them, HE did something no one else could do. HE gave the ten l***rs a peek of how powerful GOD is and what HE wants to do for everyone. But only one l***r came back and worshipped JESUS. He responded to JESUS’ power by thanking HIM and shouting about what JESUS did.

Challenge Question: Why do you think the nine other l***rs didn’t come back and worship JESUS?
