🧐 MALING AKALA: "Malinaw naman ang mata ko, sure ako na wala akong Glaucoma."

Welcome sa ating Glaucoma Q&A Series ngayong Glaucoma Awareness Month! Ating sagutin ang isa sa pinakamadalas itanong ng mga pasyente.

❓ TANONG: "Doc, malabo po ba agad ang paningin kapag may Glaucoma?"

❌ SAGOT: HINDI.

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit tinatawag na "Silent Thief of Sight" ang Glaucoma.

Sa early stages nito, MALINAW pa rin ang iyong "Central Vision" (ang gitna ng iyong paningin). Madalas, 20/20 pa rin ang iyong basa sa eye chart.

Pero dahan-dahan na palang inuubos ng sakit ang iyong "Peripheral Vision" (paningin sa gilid).

Parang magnanakaw na pumapasok sa bahay habang tulog ang lahat—walang kalabog, walang sign. Kapag napansin mong "parang nakasilip na lang sa tubo" o tunnel vision ang iyong nakikita, kadalasan ay malala na ang damage.

⚠️ TANDAAN: Ang paninging nawala dahil sa Glaucoma ay HINDI NA MAIBABALIK.

Huwag hintayin lumabo ang mata. Kung ikaw ay nasa edad 40 pataas, ang Comprehensive Eye Exam ang tanging paraan para makasigurado.
