As social distancing and quarantine protocols continue to be the norm, patient's better judgment prevent them from going to clinics and hospitals for conditions and complaints they would normally seek medical consult for. Even eye hospitals and clinics in other parts of the world have noticed this significant decline in their ER consults, and this brought up concerns of long-term risks to health and vision if treatment of some of these conditions are delayed. The thrust of our guidelines and protocols in the clinics is to defer non-urgent consults, with safety and health of everyone as our prime priority, especially during this COVID-19 era. But, there are conditions that do need urgent medical attention. From an ophthalmologic point of view, here are some eye problems which may warrant immediate care. Please take a look and share.
Also, in view of the recent modifications of our ECQ/GCQ protocols, please lets not let our guards down. Keep your masks on (properly please) and observe proper social distancing! Stay safe everyone!
