When it was established in 1970, the hospital was known as San Antonio Maternity and Medical Hospital, because of its basic health care provided by the first US trained Obstetrician – Gynecologist, Frances N. Reyes and Internist-Cardiologist, Cesar A. The hospital kept on improving, in the late 1980’s, it became San Antonio General Hospital, a secondary hospital which can support licensed physicians in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and other supporting medical services. From humble beginnings (primary – secondary – tertiary) it became San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. As a tertiary medical center, it offers a full complement of medical specialty services and facilities. In addition to these medical specialty services and facilities, the hospital offers specific sub-specialty care such as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). New facilities include the Fertility Center and Gynecologic-Minimally Invasive Surgery Center doing laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Presently, there are a lot of other healthcare providers in Batangas province. What sets San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. apart from others aside from its services and facilities is its social responsibility to the people. The priority of our institution is its commitment to care for the lives of people through affordable and compassionate healthcare for all. The owners order the use of hospital facilities and equipment judiciously and do not only consider profit. The hospital has reasonable rates and its doctors charge reasonable professional fees. With regards to corporate social responsibility, we have incorporated a foundation named San Antonio Medical Center Foundation, Inc. the purpose of which are:
To develop programs that attract the support of corporations, foundations and organizations and that encourage individuals to contribute philanthropic funds to the hospital throughout their lives. To raise funds and awareness for projects and services that maintain and improve quality patient care at San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. and its affiliates. To raise and steward funds for the advancement of healthcare in San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. In this regard, San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. would like to provide the people of Batangas, pioneering and innovative services and facilities at affordable rates. is moving towards ISO 9001:2008 and hopefully within the year, we will be the first hospital in Batangas which will be ISO certified.

The DSWD Field Office IV-A forged partnership agreements with five new external stakeholders last December 15, 2025 towards providing access to college education, skills training, and health services to members of Pantawid Pamilyang PIlipino Program (4Ps) households in the CALABARZON region. This new set of partnership focuses on enhancing the employability of 4Ps households and improving their access to health services to increase their opportunities to improve their living conditions.

These new partners include the National University (NU) Dasmariñas, University of Batangas, Dualtech Training Center Foundation, Inc., Technovative Training Center, Inc., and San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc.

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. (SAMCLI) recently held its Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing last December 15, 2025 at the 3rd Floor of DSWD Southpark Office, Southpark Ayala Malls, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The ceremony is a symbolic act that marks an important milestone in a partnership, featuring high-ranking officials and leaders from other institutions, together with their representatives, to observe and witness the event and to emphasize the importance and official nature of the commitment.

The event was facilitated and hosted by Ms. Ana-Rose J. Ablan, Insitutional Partnership Development Officer-CSO for the 4Ps Program. Present also were Ms. Mylah S. Gatchalian, DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Ms. Nellibeth V. Mercado, Division Chief, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, among other DSWD officers.

San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. is the FIRST accredited partner Hospital in Region IV-A by DSWD thru this ceremonial MOA signing. The partnership aims to strengthen our business and tie-up with DSWD and as part of our hospital’s social responsibilities to our community, specifically to our 4Ps beneficiaries and members in terms of health and nutrition.

Mr. Ruben N. Reyes, President and Marketing Director of San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. delivered his speech by presenting our medical services and existing programs and emphasized the importance of quality healthcare to all patients thru its shared commitment and objectives with DSWD, which also serves as a collaborative path that each institution will embark on throughout this engagement. Present also from San Antonio Medical Center of Lipa, Inc. were Ms. Reah I. Briones, Marketing Officer and Mr. Louie G. Palo, Marketing Coordinator.
