☝️🎉 ONE YEAR OF RUBIKS HEALTH CORPORATION
8 November 2025
A year ago today, we officially incorporated Rubiks Health Corporation — the start of what would later become Dok for All.
But our story began long before that.
In 2015, after our first year in med school, our batch created a full-length film about the social determinants of health called Kwentong Tsubibo. Jeng and I wrote the story together, and I had the privilege of directing it, with her as assistant director. The film used the Rubik’s Cube as a metaphor for the health system — complex, interlocking, and often frustrating to solve.
At the end of the film, a young boy asks a tired medical student:
“Paano mo mabubuo ’yung iba, kung hindi ka magsisimula sa isa?”
(How can you solve the rest, if you don’t start with one?)
That line stayed with us for years. It reminded us that healing a system begins with a single step — one idea, one patient, one act of service.
And that’s how Rubiks Health got its name.
Years later, life took us down different paths — I served as a Doctor to the Barrio in Occidental Mindoro, while she trained in Internal Medicine at a DOH hospital during the height of the pandemic.
Two different worlds, but one shared realization:
Healthcare shouldn’t be this hard to reach.
Almost a year after I returned from the barrios, March 2024, I came to her with an idea: To build a clinic for Filipinos who want quality care but have no HMO or private insurance. A place where anyone could see a doctor when needed without fear of the cost.
That idea became our mission.
That mission became Dok for All.
It took eight more months before we finally incorporated Rubiks Health. Today, one year since that day, our first Dok for All Clinic in Lipa City is slowly rising from the ground — a symbol of everything we’ve learned, everything we still dream to do, and everything we believe is possible – one move, one notation at a time.
To everyone who believed in us: thank you for being part of this journey.
Because change doesn’t happen all at once.
It starts with one.
Happy ☝️, mga Ka-Panatag! 💙
