Go Green Malapascua wants to show to all its visitors that the paradise destinations are not only about the dive centers, resorts or the surroundings of the tropical beaches. There is another side to these places which is outside the touristic areas and of course, shows a different reality to what you can see at the dive centers or resorts. Two of the biggest problems in Malapascua are the water and the garbage. The population of Malapascua suffers lacks access to safe drinking water and there is not a regular garbage collection system on the entire island either. These factors lead to some cases of malnutrition and other diseases in specific areas that can be really dangerous without a doctor/medical care. This is happening in an island where the diving industry is growing really quickly while its population doesn’t have access to basics things as a garbage disposal system, safe drinking water or medical care.
