Recognizing abnormal breath sound is not just about memorizing names- it's about understanding the 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 and acting fast.

🔍𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗘𝗦= 𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗜𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗦
• Popping / Velcro-like sounds
• Common in: CHF, Pulmonary Edema, Pneumonia
• Often heard at the lung bases
👉 Think: fluid-filled alveoli

🎵𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗚 =𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀
• High-pitched, musical sound
• Usually on expiration
• Seen in: Asthma, Bronchospasm, COPD exacerbation
👉 Think: tight airways

🕹️ 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗢𝗥 = 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (EMERGENCY)
• Loud, high-pitched (inspiration)
• Causes: Croup, Epiglottitis, Foreign Body
• Requires immediate action
👉 Think: blocked airway

🔊 𝗥𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗛𝗜 = 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀
• Low-pitched, coarse, “snoring” sound
• Seen in: Chronic Bronchitis, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis
• May clear with coughing
👉 Think: secretions
