The University of the Philippines Human Ecology Student Society (UP HESS) is a college-based academic organization at the College of Human Ecology in the University of the Philippines Los Baños. The main thrust of the organization is anchored towards the promotion of academic excellence. It also gives equal importance to camaraderie and leadership as a means to aid the well-being of humans. Its approach is fueled by the passion of BS Human Ecology and BS Nutrition students who intend to contribute and integrate their knowledge on their respective fields with the larger society. Moreover, UP HESS believes in the principle, “Humans are a part of nature and are not entitled to work against it.” In this light, HESSians actively take part in the conservation and protection of the environment in pursuit of a sustainable development by the use of present resources without compromising the needs of the future.

𝗜𝗦𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡, 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔 𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗜𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘!

Magsisimula na naman ang panibagong semestre, ngunit patuloy pa rin nating nararanasan ang panunupil ng mapang-aping estado na siyang humahadlang sa pagkamit nating mga estudyante sa kalidad at makamasang edukasyon.

Nitong nakaraang enlistment lamang ay danas na naman natin ang paulit-ulit na kahirapan sa pagkuha ng sapat na units. Ito ay dahil sa kakulangan ng unibersidad sa classrooms, faculty, at iba pang mga pasilidad na siyang malinaw na manipestasyon ng budget cut.

Bukod pa rito, marami rin sa atin ang walang kasiguraduhan kung paano maitataguyod ang ikalawang semestre sapagkat ang inaasahang subsidiya mula sa SLAS, SAGA, o SUPSA ay hindi pa rin dumarating.

Kaya naman inaanyayahan namin ang bawat isa na lumahok at makiisa sa First Day Rage bilang kolektibong pagkilos upang igiit ang ating karapatan at bigyang diin ang ating mga panawagan at hinaing bilang mga estudyante.
