IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

For the past 3 years, OCPT has been serving Maasin City and our neighboring towns with the best possible service and care for our patients with special physical needs. Sadly, the time has come for us to close this chapter. We humbly announce that OCPT will no longer be managing the clinic and this facebook account will soon be closed. Fortunately, the clinic will remain open, and will now be managed by our friends at RehabPro Therapy Center.

We thank you for all the years that you have trusted us with your care, and assure you that our top-notch service will be continued by the RehabPro team. Thank you once again and God bless us all.

❌No, your chiropractor/personal trainer/physician/massage therapist/internet video did not do physical therapy with you. Perhaps they gave you some exercises or did some soft tissue work, but that is NOT physical therapy.

✅Physical therapy is a profession and the culmination of a variety of examination, treatment, and education methods. Yes, exercise, soft tissue mobilization, etc can be a part of physical therapy, but they are merely a part of a larger system of evaluation and treatment.

Physical therapy can ONLY be performed by, or under the direct supervision of, a physical therapist. This is a legally protected term that no one else can use!

📌What To Expect From Your ACL Reconstruction Rehab/Recovery

👍A key component of ACL reconstruction rehab is the gradual return to activities and sports. However, the timeline for returning to sport can vary depending on factors such as surgeon's recommendations, individual progress, and sport-specific requirements.

🤔 How does dry needling work with chronic muscle tightness?

🧐 It stimulates a trigger point in a skeletal muscle. You might call it a knot, and it can cause more widespread pain than just the muscle in which it's found. Another name for a trigger point is myofascial pain syndrome.
A tight band of skeletal muscle inside a larger muscle group, a trigger point can be tender when you touch it and may cause pain in other areas of your body.

As part of a larger treatment plan, your therapist is using dry needling to try to release the trigger point, relieving pain and/or improving your movement. Dry needling can reduce muscle tension and improve pain. A twitch can occur when the needle goes into the trigger point, and may be a sign that the therapy is working.
