Welders keratitis aka Welders Eye

An eye condition similar to sunburn of the skin. Individuals after exposure to strong UV light such as metal (violet) welding light and UV light from sterilizing light bulbs. Sensation of Sandy(buhangin sa mata) and pain when blinking. Even bystanders watching over welding activity could contract the condition. See us if you have any questions about Welders eye.

That you may know: Conjunctival concretions: are epithelial inclusion cycts that may contain epithelial cell and keratin. Attributed to mild chronic eye inflammation sometimes may cause foreign body sensation. People with concretions may complain of itchiness to foreign body sensation on the affected eye.

Not all red eyes are “JUST ” sore eyes.

Fungal Keratitis or Keratomycosis is an infection of the eye affecting the cornea by multiple pathologic fungi. Mostly unrecognized and thought of as simple “sore eyes” by patients. Most over the counter eye medications are useless in treating this case and some may contribute in worsening of the infection. If left untreated may cause poor vision or worse blindness.

Commonly seen among immunocompromised, diabetic patients, and eye injury caused by vegetations such as tree branches and plant leaves injuring the eye.

See your Ophthalmologist please avoid self medication.

Mostly caused by trauma but rarely caused by inherited genetic diseases. — Ectopia lentis is the dislocation or displacement of the natural crystalline lens. The lens is defined as luxated (dislocated) when it lies outside the hyaloid fossa.
