From Broken… to Brave
Wiggy, a vulnerable cat, was brought into our clinic after enduring extreme trauma—dragging his hind leg and showing signs of severe pain and inflammation. Tests revealed the shocking extent of his injuries: a comminuted fracture in his hind leg caused by a gunshot, another bullet lodged deep in his other leg, and dangerously low hematocrit levels, indicating significant blood loss.
Despite the odds, our team sprang into action. We performed a blood transfusion to stabilize him and decided on amputation for his severely damaged leg. But his struggles didn’t end there—Wiggy was also diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), complicating his already fragile condition.
For weeks, he received intensive care, and though his recovery was challenging, Wiggy’s resilience was remarkable.
We are deeply grateful to the compassionate individuals who rescued Wiggy and entrusted us with his care. Your kindness gave him a chance to heal and start a new chapter. Today, he is healing and recovering, a living testament to the power of compassion. His journey reminds us that even small acts of kindness can make a life-changing difference. Together, we can ensure every animal is treated with the love and dignity they deserve.
