When we took Lukas to get a haircut for the first time, he cried so hard as soon as he heard the razor buzzing behind hid head. The next time we go, I want to make his experience a bit more pleasant.

Where I live, it is very common for babies to be put in walkers – devices with wheeled frames and suspended seats that let babies move around using their feet. My very own parents advised me to use one with our firstborn, Lukas!

Throughout the third trimester of pregnancy, I had always suspected that our baby was breech based on his movements and my belly’s shape. On my 37th week of pregnancy, my OB ordered an ultrasound scan and we confirmed that my baby was indeed breech.

Our firstborn, Lukas, is turning one!

As parents, Kevin and I are going through a mixed bag of emotions for sure. And we have sooo many things to think about and prepare for – his 1st birthday photoshoot, our intimate family celebration, and his upcoming baptism.

And then, amidst all the preparations and busyness, our dwindling stock of infant formula milk got me wondering - should we re-purchase and continue to offer Lukas formula milk?

I personally believe that by God’s design, babies progress through their milestones (including rolling) on their own and at their own pace. BUT in case we observe delays, it would be helpful to know so we could consult our baby’s doctor and if needed, to intervene and introduce play activities that might help.

As parents, we get super excited when our baby meets milestones.

While we typically celebrate milestones, appreciating mini-milestones is great, too! Mini-milestones are the little things our child does BEFORE they master the big milestones we know. They help us appreciate what our child CAN do, rather than focus on what they are NOT doing YET. We often take mini-milestones for granted, and fail to watch out for them and celebrate!
