Aromas can have such a profound effect on our wellbeing. When we inhale aromatic molecules from pure essential oils, it sends signals to our limbic system that trigger memories and events, and can even help shift our mood to a better one. And shifting to a better mood can have a positive effect on our central nervous system and our physiology.

An opportunity to give back presented itself when Foundation, , and Jun de Leon put together a Wellness Respite. It was held at the wonderful Casa San Pablo that set the stage for a 2-day rest and relaxation haven for cancer patients and survivors.

As a cancer warrior, I am familiar with the mental and emotional turmoil one can experience with a cancer diagnosis. That is why I wanted to give back by being a volunteer at Carewell and sharing my knowledge as a Certified Aromatherapist and a Certified mindfulness practitioner.

I created the Aroma Meditatation®️ program to provide participants with an experiential aromatherapy session to enhance and balance the mind-body-spirit well being.

During the Aroma Meditatation®️ session, participants inhale essential oil molecules to help promote beneficial changes in the mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a region of the brain known to be involved in emotions.

I discovered from my experience and studies that allowing our minds and bodies to relax can support our wellness goals.

Being well and continuing to strive to be well will always be a cancer patient's topmost objective. Creating a safe space and setting to complement and supplement the healing journey of cancer patients can have a huge impact on their overall wellness.

I am grateful for the chance to help and give back!!
