In the Philippines, Transmedic’s ophthalmology team continues to champion clinical education through our annual TELEON Users Meeting. The recent “Young Surgeons’ Guide to Modern Vision with TELEON IOL” brought together over 50 Filipino ophthalmologists, including many emerging surgeons, for meaningful exchange and practical learning.

Designed to bridge innovation with real-world practice, the session focused on the clinical application of TELEON IOL technologies — from patient selection to surgical techniques and optimising visual outcomes — complemented by open discussion and shared clinical experience.

From discussions on managing capsule rupture to exploring the latest advances in optics, 𝕋𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕆ℕ’s presence at APAO 2026 highlighted an important message: premium cataract surgery is not defined by the most sophisticated lens alone, but by sound clinical judgment, refined surgical technique, and the ability to adapt when cases become challenging.

At the 41st Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO 2026), 𝕋𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕆ℕ Surgical (Spankeren, Netherlands) delivered two engaging educational sessions. The program began with an interactive evening symposium focused on intraocular lens (IOL) solutions, followed by a comprehensive ® instruction course that explored surgical techniques and clinical decision-making in greater depth.

The sessions moved seamlessly from creative analogies—comparing vision correction to the art of mixing the perfect cocktail—to detailed analysis of surgical videos and real-world case discussions. The overarching insight was clear: achieving excellent outcomes in premium cataract surgery requires a versatile portfolio of solutions, continuous technical refinement, and the responsibility to select the most appropriate option for each individual patient.

RCOPT 2025 brought together the region’s ophthalmic community, and we were privileged to be part of the conversations shaping the future of eye care.

As exhibitors, our Transmedic Thailand Ophthalmology team engaged closely with clinicians throughout the three-day event—exchanging insights and showcasing Teleon Premium IOLs, glaucoma innovations such as the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve by New World Medical and Healaflow, and the increasing importance of comprehensive dry eye evaluation with the IDRA by Sbm Sistemi s.r.l.
