BRIEF HISTORY OF PHILIPPINE ROTC

In 1862,ROTC was established in the United States as a college elective focusing on military training and discipline.Many countries that were connected with the United States then followed the same program including the Republic of the Philippines.On the brink of World War II in the year 1912,the Americans established the first Philippine ROTC unit in the University of the Philippines even after the country gained its independence,the ROTC program remained a college elective for all Filipino students.

At 0700H, the City of Malabon University ROTC Unit conducted the Blood Donation Activity, held at the CMU Campus, Pampano Corner, Maya-maya St., Longos, and Malabon City. Members of the Training Staff, together with GMA and Cadet Officers led by CMUROTCU Admin NCO under the supervision of COL ROMMEL M AGPAOA INF (GSC) PA, Commandant.

City of Malabon University ROTCU together with Divine Mercy College Foundation Incorporated ROTCU, HQS company, Charlie Company, BCMT CL-01-2025 participated in the said activity.

Thanks to our modern day heroes who donates blood to save lives. Everyone can be a hero just by donating a blood. Donation not only helps you, but also the community.

The City of Malabon University ROTC Unit conducted its COCC aspirant qualifying exam for Military Science 1, held at the CMU Campus, Pampano Corner, Maya-maya St., Longos, and Malabon City. Members of the Training Staff, together with GMA and Cadet Officers led by CMUROTCU Admin NCO under the supervision of COL ROMMEL M AGPAOA INF (GSC) PA, Commandant, organized the COCC aspirants.

A total of 3 ROTC units conducted its qualifying exam at City of Malabon University, City of Malabon University ROTCU, University of Caloocan City ROTCU, and Divine Mercy Foundation College Institute ROTCU. This exam is conducted to test the intelligence of each COCC aspirant. It is an important part of the journey of being a cadet officer. This shows that being one of them is not only being strong physically but also being strong mentally. The qualifying exam ended with no issues reported.

On the same day, chosen cadets of the City of Malabon University ROTC Unit participated in the Military History Challenge Elimination Round. This event is to look back on the history and development of our country. It also commemorates the patriotism of our heroes throughout history. Looking back to the past to learn and never forget.

At 0700H, the City of Malabon University ROTC Unit conducted its 14th and 15th training days for Military Science 1, held at the CMU Campus, Pampano Corner, Maya-maya St., Longos, and Malabon City. Members of the Training Staff, together with GMA and Cadet Officers led by CMUROTCU Admin NCO under the supervision of COL ROMMEL M AGPAOA INF (GSC) PA, Commandant, organized the MS-1 students into a battalion formation for accounting and checking of attendance.

At 0830H, the MS-1 students proceed to the ex*****on of basic pacing and drills and ceremonies. Afterwards, the students are given 1 hour to review before taking the final examination. At 1030H, the MS-1 students were instructed to proceed to their respective classrooms for final examination with the subjects AFP Mandate, Mission, Function, and Organization; IED Awareness; Philippine Military History; Cybersecurity Awareness; Survival Techniques; Hygiene and Sanitation; Leadership; Basic Life Support; and Basic Weapons Training supervised by the ROTC Training Staff, GMA, and Cadet Officers held at CMU Campus. The final examination ended at 1200H; the MS-1 students were instructed to have their lunch.

At about 1330H the same day, members of the ROTC Training Staff and Graduate Military Assistants, together with the Cadet Officers under the supervision of COL ROMMEL M AGPAOA INF (GSC) PA, Commandant, organized the MS-1 students into a battalion formation for accounting and checking of attendance for the 15th training day.

At 1400H, the MS-1 students were instructed to proceed to the CMU Hall for their practical examination on Basic Weapons Training, which was supervised by the Admin NCO, Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs), and Cadet Officers. The MS-1 students were given the opportunity to assemble and disassemble the M16 rifle. At exactly 1700H, the cadets were then dismissed. That concludes the 14th and 15th days of City of Malabon University ROTC Unit Military Science 1. Mabuhay ang ROTC! Mabuhay ang kabataang Pilipino!
