In celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) conducted a series of meaningful activities to strengthen anti-drug awareness in the community. On November 20, 2025, the council initiated a drug testing activity for barangay staff, followed by an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session at Caticlan Elementary School. On November 22, 2025, BADAC held advocacy contests for the youth of Barangay Caticlan, which became a highlight of the celebration. Students from Conperey Integrated Learning School and Caticlan Elementary School attended and actively participated, with 15 students joining the poster-making contest and 11 students taking part in the photography essay competition. The outcome was overwhelming as the entries showcased vibrant colors, creativity, and the artistic talents of the youth. The event was also graced by PEMS Ernesto T. Lomeda, along with representatives from the Malay Health Office represented by Dodjie Cataquiz. BADAC beneficiaries likewise submitted their creative entries for the Parol and Christmas Tree Making Contest. The success of this year’s celebration was made possible through the unwavering support of the Barangay Council.

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), under the leadership of the Barangay Council headed by Hon. Ralf Tolosa, conducted a mandatory drug testing activity for all barangay personnel as part of its initiative to uphold a drug-free workplace and strengthen the Barangay Anti-Drug Program. A total of 56 barangay staff participated in the activity held at the Barangay Hall. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) supervised the entire process to ensure its integrity, credibility, and proper handling of all procedures. The activity included registration, orientation, and the collection of urine samples following strict chain-of-custody protocols, with all samples submitted to an accredited testing facility for official verification. The drug testing was completed smoothly with no reported irregularities, highlighting the barangay’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining a drug-free community.

Earlier today, October 9, 2025, at around 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) of Barangay Caticlan conducted a Livelihood Assistance Distribution for Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) at the Barangay Caticlan Multi-Purpose Hall Session Room. The activity aimed to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of PWUDs into the community by providing them with livelihood assistance that could help sustain their families and promote their continuous recovery.
Through the leadership and effort of Punong Barangay Ralf A. Tolosa, each PWUD beneficiary received 50 kilograms of rice as part of the barangay’s livelihood assistance program. The distribution was also attended by members of the Sangguniang Barangay, who actively participated in the event and extended their encouragement and support to the beneficiaries.

The activity was successful and meaningful. It demonstrated the commitment of Barangay Caticlan, through the BADAC, to promote rehabilitation, livelihood, and reintegration programs for PWUDs.

The event also reflected the barangay’s strong partnership and unified effort of Barangay Council in supporting the national campaign against illegal drugs while providing hope and opportunity for transformation within the community.

The Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) of Caticlan headed by our supportive Barangay Chairman Ralf A. Tolosa successfully conducted its Orientation and Symposium last August 14, 2025, at the Barangay Hall Session Room, attended by BADAC members and Barangay Council. Our esteemed resource speakers shared valuable insights to strengthen our fight against illegal drugs: PDEA Intelligence Officer IO 1 Florraine B. Zausa provided in-depth knowledge on the legal consequences of selling, trading, and using illegal drugs; Dr. Athena C. Magdamit challenged all members to be committed to intelligence monitoring in their respective areas; and PEMS Ernesto T. Lomeda gave clear instructions on the proper functionality and roles of BADAC. The event was well attended and marked by active participation, reflecting our community’s unity and determination to uphold a safe, peaceful, and drug-free Barangay Caticlan.

On July 1, 2025, at 2:00 in the afternoon, the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) convened a meeting at the Barangay Session Hall in Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, to discuss important matters concerning the strengthening of the organization.

Present during the meeting were Honorable Raymund Maming, Honorable Richard Daguno, Honorable Alemar Cahilig and Honorable Genelgie D. Aloba. The main agenda focused on evaluating the current structure and performance of BADAC and formulating strategies to enhance its effectiveness.

The members reviewed previous anti-drug programs and assessed the council’s existing functions.
Additionally, the council discussed the value of community involvement. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to proactive leadership, improved partnerships, and greater community participation in the fight against illegal drugs.
