Local Government Unit of Malungon headed by Reynaldo F. Constantino thru Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Jessie A. Dela Cruz LDRRM Officer/Municipal Administrator-Designate.

The LDRRMO Staff lectured about the Mountain Search and Rescue and Swift Water Rescue Techniques at Barangay Malabod, Malungon, Sarangani Province.

They demonstrate the different usage and importance of Knot Tying, Ropemanship, High Line Set up for Mountain Search and Rescue. The Wading, River Crossing, Agressive & Defensive Swim, Two-man Rescue for Swift Water Rescue Techniques which will be used in times of disaster rescue operations.

Dela Cruz LDRRM Officer/Municipal Administrator-Designate in partnership with Bureau of Fire Protection (Malungon Fire Station) headed by FINSP Mario Ante, Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Rafaida Hernandez and Malungon Police Station Chief of Police PLT. COL Geovanni E. Ladeo, successfully conducted the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) in Malandag Public Market, Barangay Malandag, Malungon, Sarangani Province headed by Ma’am Marife Cachuela.

4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill conducted this November 6, 2025 at 9:00 in the morning, participated by the vendors of Malandag Public Market.

This activity aimed to enhance our disaster preparedness and response capabilities. Through continued participation, we strengthen our commitment to building a safer and more resilient community.

As the activity ended, LDRRMO Personnel, BFP Malungon, MHO and MPS gave their evaluation, recommendation and emphasized the importance of the activity in preparing and responding for the occurrence of earthquake.

The Local Government Unit of Malungon, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and comrades of the Philippine Air Force personnel who perished in the recent helicopter crash while in the line of duty for humanitarian assistance.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our esteemed instructors, Sgt Yves B Sijub PAF, during the Search and Rescue Auxiliary Training (SARAT) held in Malungon. His dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to saving lives have left a lasting impact on our community and our local responders.

His service and sacrifice will always be remembered with great respect and gratitude. We join the entire Philippine Air Force in mourning this tragic loss and in honoring his life of service to the nation.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
