Kumuha ang nasa 28,258 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates ng United States licensure examination noong 2024, ayon kay Quezon City Rep. Marvin Rillo.

"The number of Philippine-educated nurses seeking to practice their profession in America remains very high, mainly on account of insufficient pay here at home," ayon kay Rillo.

Tinatayang nasa 54% ng BSN graduates mula Pilipinas na kumuha ng U.S. licensure examination ang nakapasa sa unang kuha nila habang 36% naman ang repeat test-takers ang nakapasa.

Si Rillo ang author ng House Bill No. 5276 na layong amyendahan ang "Philippine Nursing Act of 2002" para palakihin ang basic monthly pay ng entry-level government nurses ng 74% o hanggang higit P70,000 (Salary Grade 21).

"Higher pay is still the best strategy for us to retain some of our nurses in the local health sector," saad niya.
