The UP-PGH Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

The Child Development Unit in Ward 11 of the PGH Department of Pediatrics was created in 1961 by Dr. Perla D. Santos Ocampo to answer to the needs of a “special” group of children. Today, the UP-PGH Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics strives to become a Center of Excellence in developmental diagnosis, management and family support for children with motor, communicative, sensory, developmental, genetic, neurological, learning and behavior disorders. It remains to be the largest provider of charity diagnostic services for children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disabilities in a tertiary government teaching hospital in the country to date.
