Sophia Christina Rose “Sopay” Umlas’ take on dress codes and gender stereotypes is very much on point. Fashion is a large part of who we are and is synonymous with personal expression. When we limit ourselves to the idea of binary dress codes, we also hinder our ability to genuinely express who we are. Let’s fight against these oppressive and discriminatory societal standards, and promote our own individualities! 🤗💕🏳️‍🌈

🌈What is the SOGIE Bill and why is it important ❓🤔🏳️‍🌈

✅The SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression) Equality Bill, also known as the House Bill 4982, is an act that recognizes the fundamental right of a person regardless of gender, culture and class, and vows to protect the rights of an individual against s*x and gender-based discrimination.

🌈Here are some fast facts about SOGIE:
❤️ It protects LGBTQIA+ persons from discrimination
💙 It gives equal access to LGBTQIA+ persons to employment, education, and social services
💜 It will promote programs for non-discrimination and diversity in schools and workplaces
💛 It will penalize employers who discriminate against LGBTQIA+ persons
💚 It will provide programs to protect LGBTQIA+ kids in schools
🧡 The bill extends equal rights to all persons. Gay or straight, s*xual harassment and assault are punishable by law.

🌈Through this bill, we can promote a safer and more inclusive community for all! So let’s all fight for equality and be G for SOGIE! 🏳️‍🌈💖

Mental health is a hot topic in this day and age.

Faced with discrimination amongst other things the LGBTQIA+ community has been subject to many forms of prejudice, social stress, and mental health problems over the last decade and beyond. Having only been recognized in the last decade, the steady battle for equality and anti-discrimination towards the LGBTQIA+ community has been an uphill battle to say the least.

That being said it is not too late to help aid the LGBTQIA+ community through educating ourselves and acknowledging this long standing problem in order for the betterment of society.

We don't have to remain divided.

We are here for anyone and everyone. The sooner we stand together the sooner we can look forward into a brighter future not just for ourselves but for everyone involved.

In the past years, the topics of s*xuality, gender identity, and gender expression have had a significant increase in its presence, change, and visibility in our society. However, we understand that there are still many factors that may limit us in expanding our understanding and there are still a lot of people who would like to know more about SOGIE.

But donut worry because we are here to help! 🤗🍩

SOGIE is an abbreviation which combines Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression. It has become one of the main reference terms to describe the LGBTQIA+ community.
