Matteo’s got the ultimate recipe for you this Halloween! Try out this fun and healthy Barley Brownie recipe with your kids for a sweet, sweet Halloween celebration.

INGREDIENTS:
▪️ 2 eggs, slightly beaten
▪️ 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
▪️ 1 cup packed brown sugar
▪️ 1/2 cup vegetable oil
▪️ 1 teaspoon vanilla
▪️ 3/4 cup Santé Pure Barley powder
▪️ 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
▪️ 3/4 teaspoon salt
▪️ 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

PROCEDURE:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8-by-8-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, cocoa powder, sugar, oil and vanilla.
3. In a medium bowl, sift or whisk together barley flour/powder, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to egg mixture, mixing well. Stir in walnuts, incorporating them well.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until a tester comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes.
