"Better late than never! 😊
We are excited to share with you our latest publication: “Sociobehavioral Factors Associated with SARS-CoV-2 Infection and COVID-19 Vaccine Effectiveness Against Medically Attended, Symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 Infection in the Philippines: A Prospective Case-Control Study (FASCINATE-P Study).” The results revealed that healthcare workers, and individuals attending large gatherings were at higher risk. The vaccine effectiveness seemed to wane over time, suggesting a need for more effective vaccines that offer longer protection.
A big thank you to everyone who supported this study, including the staff at Philippine General Hospital and San Lazaro Hospital. Their contributions made this project possible! For research nurses, the challenges during recruitment were real, but they were worth it. Through rainy and sunny days, we continued our efforts. Despite the risk of infection in the challenging period during covid pandemic including Omicron surge, we pushed through to make the evidence available sooner.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to the healthcare workers who took the time to answer our questionnaire during recruitment. Their contributions have been invaluable, and now we are proud to share the study results, which will hopefully add valuable insights to the ongoing efforts against COVID-19 as well as future outbreaks. This study represents not just scientific evidence, but the dedication and resilience of every person involved.
Maraming salamat all once again for making this happen!
