The JRRMMC Department of Neurology joins the Philippine Neurological Association (PNA) in celebrating Neurology Week.

On the first day of the celebration, we conducted a Stroke Lay Forum at the JRRMMC Main Lobby.

The activity aimed to raise public awareness about stroke, its warning signs, risk factors, and the importance of early recognition and management. Participants included patients, caregivers, and hospital staff, who actively engaged in the discussion and shared their experiences.

During the forum, everyone was reminded to always remember “BE FAST” as a simple way to recognize the early signs of stroke:

B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
E – Eyes: Sudden blurred or double vision, or loss of vision in one or both eyes
F – Face: Facial drooping or uneven smile
A – Arm: Arm weakness or numbness, usually on one side of the body
S – Speech: Slurred or difficult speech, or inability to speak or understand words
T – Time: Time is critical! Immediately call emergency services or go to the nearest hospital

Early recognition and quick response can save lives and prevent disability.

We thank everyone who participated in the event!🧠✨
