Balay Lingap Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Ito ang naging pahayag ni Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso sa pagbubukas ng University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital Balay Lingap sa Taft Avenue, Maynila.

Balay Lingap: Extending PGH Care Beyond the Hospital

Today, under the leadership of Dr. Gerardo Legaspi, PGH SHPM together with the entire PGH community, Senator B**g Go, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, the City of Manila, and The Ruth Foundation celebrated the ribbon cutting of Balay Lingap.

The University of the Philippines โ€“ Philippine General Hospital (UP PGH) continues its mission of compassionate service through Balay Lingap, a haven that supports patients and families even after hospital care.

Located near the PGH compound, Balay Lingap has two main facilities. The Transient Housing Unit, located on the 3rd and 4th floors, provides short-term accommodation for patients and families who travel from far provinces for treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or follow-up consultations. This helps ease the financial and physical strain of long hospital stays.

On the ground floor, the Hospice Unit offers a home-like space for patients with terminal illnesses who can no longer be cared for at home. Here, they receive medical, emotional, and spiritual support in a setting that values dignity and comfort.

Balay Lingap reflects PGHโ€™s vision of providing accessible, humane, and continuous careโ€”bridging the gap between hospital and home for every Filipino in need.
