The 8 of Pentacles is often referred to as the Apprenticeship card, and we can see why. A craftsman is at his bench and toiling away at 8 Pentacles. There are 2 still to go, while the other 6 are piled up in front of him. He is pounding away with such concentration and attention to detail, and he wants to succeed in a very big way. In a literal sense, you may be doing the same mundane activity or routine over and over again and hoping for a change.
Or you may be so obsessed with work that you are unplugged from the town and home that are far away in this card. You may just be literally unplugged and getting away from your phone and computer so you can get some work done or focus on your home. In love, the 8 of Pentacles suggests someone is willing to put the work in, and the 8 is an infinity symbol upright, indicating possible soul mate potential. But you may also meet a lover at a seminar or conference as well.
There is an attention to detail here that is almost fixated. If it's been a while since you had fun, you may need to lift your head a bit. But at the same time, if you are so focused on the work or the pentacles in front of you, that may be exactly why you are missing something.
