And that's a wrap for Project D.U.M.P.!💊🗑

Within one week of collecting unused and expired medicines from local homes nearby, we have received a total of 70 capsules, 162 tablets, and 12 other forms of medicines from 23 various households. This was a little more than what we expected and we are so grateful for your support in raising this advocacy.

We hope this small advocacy project was able to be of help as a way to disseminate information on proper drug disposal, raise awareness on the importance of the issue, and initiate a change in how we handle our common household medicines. 🍀

With Project D.U.M.P.: Disposal of Unused Medicines Productively, CleaNurse has come up with a way to align saving the environment, disposing of your unused medicines, and saving you the time and effort!🧚 ✨ This advocacy project aims to collect unused/expired drugs from common households and sending them to our partnered pharmaceutical companies for their proper disposal.

Medications should be disposed of at specified drug collection locations. 🗑️✅ If one is not available near you, the FDA has determined that flushing certain medications is safer since it prevents accidental ingestion ☠️, especially by children 👧🏻👦🏻 and animals 🐶🐱. In addition, even small items such as these medications, can poison local waterways and suffocate marine life. 🌍

Have you ever waken up one day and felt the need to organize a certain part of the house and be productive? 🧹🫧 However, upon opening up your drawers and shelves, there is an abundance of unused and expired medicines that are collecting dusts in every corner. Do we just throw it in the trash can? 🗑 Flush it? 🚽Not a big deal right???⁉️🤔

Well, actually, throwing unused/expired medications is actually hazardous and has harmful effects not only on humans, but also on our environment and ecosystem. 🌳🌊🦈🐠

A ton of problems has surfaced regarding hoarding of medicines at homes, especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. 🦠💉 But have we ever thought about its longevity and shelf life, and how we are going to throw it out once it expires? ❓🤔⏳ Well, that's what we are here for!

Get to know the CleaNurse: Student Nurses for Safe Medicine Disposal who aims to spread information and awareness about the problem of improper discarding medicines at homes. 💊🗑 Our goal is to initiate a change in the practices of many households, correct the ways on how we can throw away unused and expired medications in order to protect ourselves, and lessen the harmful consequences it brings to our environment.🧪🐠🫧
