2025 | A Year That Breathed Purpose.

From the hospital halls of learning to the heart of the community, 2025 was a year defined by service, growth, and shared vision.

Our Pulmo family at Manila Doctors Hospital stood united—learning from global platforms like the PCCP Convention, ATS 2025 and APSR 2025. Strengthening our practice through our Respivision Postgraduate Course last august and reaching our patients beyond clinic walls during Asthma Day, COPD Awareness Month, and World Lung Day and showing our support through Denim friday's for Lung cancer awareness.

We healed, we taught, we advocated—and we gave back through tree planting, serving the community and caring for the air we protect and the lives we serve.

None of this would be possible without the relentless dedication of our consultants and the passion of every fellow, resident, and doctor who chose excellence and compassion every single day. 🫶🏻🫁

A successful and interactive COPD Lay Forum at our MDH OPD!

Our pulmonary fellows in-training together with our IM residents spent the day debunking myths, answering questions, and empowering patients with knowledge.

Some of the questions were:
🙋🏻‍♀️“Magkapareho ba ang Asthma at COPD?”
💨 “Pwede ba maiwasan ang COPD?”
🩺 “Lifetime ba ang pag gamit ng gamot sa COPD?”

Our very own Dr. Dennis Teo and our Pulmonary Medicine fellows in-training presented outstanding research papers at the recently concluded APSR 2025 held in SMX, Manila last November 11-13.

In addition, Dr. Albert Yap and Dr. Hannah Varona received recognition for their work as they were named recipients of the 2025 APSR Assembly Education Awards.

The Manila Doctors Hospital Section of Pulmonary Medicine community continues to breathe life into education, advocacy, and lung health and we are not slowing down anytime soon.

• August 7: In partnership with PCCP and the Philippine Tuberculosis Society Inc., we took active TB case finding to the Rosario Reyes Health Center, offering free chest X-rays with our latest ultraportable machine. Big tech, small device, healthier lungs.

• August 19 to 20: We proudly hosted our 7th Post-Graduate Course, “Respivision: The Future of Pulmonary Medicine”. This gathering brought together experts and learners for a deep dive into the innovations shaping our field.

• September 12: We conducted our Smoking Cessation Training Program at the Lung Center of the Philippines, reinforcing our commitment to helping Filipinos live healthier, smoke-free, and more breathable lives.

• September 21: We celebrated World Lung Day by championing the call for Clean Air for All and raising awareness on the importance of respiratory health. Everyone deserves air that loves you back.

Here is to continuing our mission of better breathing and better living.
