This is a case of disseminated herpes zoster “shingles”. Herpes zoster usually presents as a dermatomal vesicular rash. However, a disseminated forms appears to be like a chicken pox. This isisally affects patients with low immunity.

Patient developed swelling of the eyelids and face as well as rash after using sulfur soap and “katialis”.

Be careful of what you use on your skin even an ordinary soap can make it all worse.

Skin 101: “pantal-pantal na pabalik-balik”. This type of rash is what we call Urticaria. It is itchy and can appear on-and-off for several weeks to months. Most commonly it is caused by infection… in other cases an autoimmune disorder — Kris Aquino had primarily the same condition before being diagnosed with lupus erythematosus.

This is what we call Herpes zoster, “shingles” in lay man’s term. A sudden eruption on the skin associated with pain deep in the tissue with occasional itch. The virus is NOT a sexually transmitted disease but a dormant form of chicken pox.

Whitish and reddish rash. Sometimes brownish in color. Often spreads rapidly and multiplies fast —- This is “An-an” or what we can Tinea versicolor. A fungal infection of the skin. Easily treatable with the right medications.
