Sana lahat ng may malasakit sa mga Healthcare Workers!

Bilang Chair ng Senate Committee on Health, muling hinihimok ni Senator B**g Go ang Department of Health at Department of Budget and Management na bigyang importansya at madaliin ang pagpapalabas ng COVID-19 allowance para sa mga Filipino healthcare workers. Ito ay dahil sa tumataas na posibilidad ng pag-alis ng state of public health emergency sa bansa.

Kung aalisin ang deklarasyong ito, ang mga health workers na patuloy na humaharap at gumagamot ng mga pasyenteng may COVID-19 ay hindi na makakatanggap ng kanilang emergency allowance.

Ipinahayag naman ni Senator Kuya B**g Go na habang hindi pa opisyal na nababago ang deklarasyon ay tinitiyak aniya na ang pondo para sa mga allowances ng mga health workers ay nakatakda na sa ilalim ng 2023 national budget. Binigyang-diin din ng senador na pag-aralan nang mabuti ang mga gagawing hakbang upang maging ligtas ang publiko laban sa umiiral na mga panganib na nauugnay pa rin sa COVID-19.

“Sa ngayon, para sa akin, dapat po manatili muna dahil habang nandiyan si COVID at para po makatulong pa sa ating mga health workers, mabigyan sila ng allowance,” dagdag pa ni Senato B**g Go.

The increase granted is less than half of the P150 across-the-board daily minimum wage hike inching forward in the Senate and brings the minimum wage in the capital to within P140 of the P750 daily national minimum wage that labor groups are campaigning for.
