What Are Warts?
Warts are small, rough growths on the skin caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus enters the skin through tiny cuts or breaks and causes rapid growth of cells on the outer layer of the skin.
Warts are generally harmless, but they can spread through:
🔸Direct skin-to-skin contact
🔸Touching contaminated surfaces (like floors, towels, or razors)
🔸Scratching or picking at a wart
They can affect anyone but are more common in children, teenagers, and people with weakened immune systems.
