A Warm Ward, a Home Away from Home

A heartfelt letter from the daughter of Mr. Tjong, a patient from Makassar, Indonesia, traveled across the ocean to us—every word filled with gratitude and trust. Mr. Tjong initially sought medical care at a local hospital in Indonesia due to leg pain, where he was later diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. With the support of his daughter, he chose to come to our hospital for treatment.

In her letter, she especially thanked Dr. Hu Ying and the attending physician, saying their professionalism brought peace of mind and their warmth made her feel truly supported. She thanked the interpretation team for bridging every communication gap. She thanked the partners at the Makassar International Service Center for their assistance and companionship that began all the way back in Indonesia. She thanked the insurance team for their efficiency, which helped ease the heavy burden. She thanked Nurse Manager Lilly on the 8th floor and every nurse for turning the ward into a warm and caring home. She even expressed gratitude to the patient service coordinator, cleaning staff, security personnel, drivers, and every staff member who offered help and care along the way.

She said with deep emotion, "When my father felt cold, the nurse came right away to take care of him—quick to respond and incredibly thoughtful." That attentiveness and sense of responsibility are exactly what we strive for every day.

We thank Ms. Tjong and her family, and every patient who places their trust in us. Walking alongside our patients in their fight against cancer and caring for both body and soul is not only our responsibility but our mission.

If you are facing cancer, please don't lose hope. Let's stay strong together—and move forward, side by side.

She Chose to Live | Defending Life💪

👩‍⚖️ ZHUMATOVA LAZZAT is a lawyer from Kazakhstan.
🔍 In January 2025, a routine checkup changed her life—
she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer with liver metastases.
Back home, doctors recommended🏥
8 to 9 months of chemotherapy, possibly along with a full mastectomy.
But as a lawyer, she’s used to defending the truth.
This time, she chose to defend her life.
🌍 She came to Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital for another option.
Microwave ablation combined with interventional therapy helped remove the tumors,
and her breast was preserved.
Today, her tumors have shrunk significantly,👏
and some lesions are no longer active.
ZHUMATOVA LAZZAT said: “I want treatment. I want to live. I want to return to work.”
❤️ This is her choice. Her defense of life.

Minimally Invasive Breast Preservation: A Doctor’s Commitment, A Woman’s Dignity💟

“For breast cancer patients, the psychological trauma of losing a breast can sometimes be as profound as the disease itself. Breast preservation shouldn’t be a luxury. Minimally invasive techniques make it possible.”

Professor Dai Wenyan | Advocate for Breast Preservation
- Director of the Breast Cancer Center 🏥
- Over 20 years in comprehensive cancer care ⏳
- Pioneers the integrated approach of “Breast Preservation + Minimally Invasive Treatment + Breast Preservation” 🎗️
- Breast preservation rate stable at 50%–60% and steadily increasing 📈

Areas of Expertise | Minimally Invasive Breast Preservation Techniques
- Breast Preservation Ablation: Microwave ablation 🔥, cryoablation with CryoKnife ❄️—precisely inactivates tumors while preserving breast shape
- Minimally Invasive Intervention: Image-guided precision targeting of lesions 🎯—minimally traumatic, quick recovery, fewer complications
- Individualized Comprehensive Treatment: Develops chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and endocrine therapy plans based on molecular subtypes to create favorable conditions for breast preservation 💊
- Particularly suitable for elderly patients, those who cannot tolerate general anesthesia, and those with a strong desire to preserve their breast 🌸

Professor Dai Wenyan emphasizes:
“Breast preservation is not a clinical compromise—it is a commitment to human dignity. Ensuring that every woman remains whole after treatment has been my unwavering mission for over 20 years.”

If you or someone you care about is facing breast cancer treatment decisions, feel free to contact us for consultation.

26/03/2026

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for your incredible care, kindness and dedication throughout my treatment. I’m now able to return to work and life again.”

These words are from a heartfelt thank-you letter written by Ms. Nguyen, a patient from Vietnam.

In January 2025, examination results confirmed a recurrence of cervical cancer, with the tumor involving the bladder, adhering to a section of the intestine, and accompanied by metastatic pain in the sacrum and pelvis. She had long been suffering from severe pain, which made it difficult to sleep at night and impossible to stand or walk for extended periods—her daily life was completely disrupted.

Local doctors recommended surgery, but the procedure might have required a colostomy and long-term urinary catheterization. Unwilling to accept such a drastic change in her quality of life, she chose to decline surgery and sought alternative treatment in Guangzhou.

Upon admission, the medical team at Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital assessed her overall condition and developed a minimally invasive treatment plan centered on radioactive seed implantation. The approach focused on precise local intervention, minimizing trauma and side effects while promoting rapid recovery.

As treatment progressed, her pelvic and sacral pain significantly eased, her mobility gradually improved, and her quality of life was restored.

What left a deep impression on her was not just the treatment itself, but the supportive details throughout her cross-border medical journey: doctors patiently explaining her condition, nurses providing continuous care, and an interpreter accompanying her every step of the way—helping her regain a sense of safety in an unfamiliar environment.

Today, Ms. Nguyen has returned to work and her life is back on track. This thank-you letter tells the story of how she overcame pain and anxiety to gradually reclaim her life. It also reflects the philosophy of Healing Health: treatment is not just about targeting the tumor, but about helping patients rebuild their ability to live fully.

Protecting Fertility: The Compassion of Medicine💕

"For young patients with cervical cancer, hysterectomy is the last resort, not the only option."💡

Professor Hu Ying | Specialist in Functional Preservation and Minimally Invasive Treatment for Uterine Cancer

Over 10 years of experience in minimally invasive cancer treatment
Specializing in solid tumor minimally invasive therapy
Dedicated to balancing "cancer treatment" with "functional preservation"

Common Patient Concerns:
💬 Diagnosed with cervical or endometrial cancer, but told that "hysterectomy is the only option"
💬 Young and nulliparous, worried that treatment means losing the chance to have children
💬 Unwilling or unable to undergo traditional open surgery
💬 Concerned about the impact of hysterectomy on long-term quality of life

Professor Hu Ying's Clinical Approach:
✔ Radical Trachelectomy: Precisely removes the lesion while preserving the uterine body
✔ Fertility-Preserving Treatment After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy: Reduces tumor size to create opportunities for fertility preservation
✔ Uterine Artery Embolization: DSA-guided procedure to block tumor blood supply while keeping the uterus intact
✔ Post-Treatment Management: Precise evaluation and personalized follow-up to safeguard long-term quality of life

Professor Hu Ying emphasizes:
"Functional preservation is not about compromising curative outcomes, but about selecting the appropriate technical approach based on precise evaluation. Each treatment method has strict indications. The key is to define the appropriate application boundaries for each technique and match the right technology with the right patient."🎯🔑

If you or someone you care about is facing treatment decisions for uterine cancer, cervical cancer, or endometrial cancer, feel free to reach out for a private consultation. A professional evaluation may open the door to more possibilities.

From Harvard Medical School to becoming one of China's first physicians working with large-scale radiotherapy equipment (LA), Professor Wang Ligen has dedicated 40 years to advancing radiotherapy from an auxiliary discipline to a pioneering field led by neutron technology. He overcame challenges in cervical cancer treatment through californium-252 afterloading therapy, using minimally invasive techniques to reduce suffering for patients worldwide. By providing multilingual services, he transcended national boundaries, and through academic exchanges, he built a life-saving bridge between China and Southeast Asia. His tireless medical journey, working day and night without rest, aims to transform the lament of "delayed treatment" into the dawn of "healing toward life"—this exemplifies the compassion of Chinese healthcare. As he stated, "Treatment is not merely about technology; it is about reverence for life."
