Vizcarra Pharmaceutical has grown from a single-product to a multi-product company for more than 20 years. It began in 1988 as a distributor of hepatitis B vaccine in the Philippines. The Company continuously developed the hepatitis B market in the 80’s and 90’s. Pharmaceutical manufacturers began to take notice of innovative ways to market products in the Philippines, Vizcarra Pharmaceutical soon expanded their distribution of other vaccines, and blood derivative products. Vizcarra Pharmaceutical is now expanding their horizon to market food supplements (multivitamins and probiotics) in the country, and are currently growing their business with principal companies from Korea, Switzerland, India and Germany. With 3 major distribution network in the Philippines (in the Northern Region, Manila Region, and Middle/Southern Islands) Vizcarra Pharmaceutical serves product requirements of more than 3,000 medical practitioners, 100 major hospitals and key strategic drug outlets throughout the country. Our Source of Inspiration
Segundina Cornejo Vizcarra is our inspiration to enter the pharmaceutical field in order to make preventive medicine accessible to the less fortunate. Gunding was raised in poverty but paved her way to success through sheer hard work and determination, serving customers with quality products, observing honesty and integrity in all her dealings, and showing respect and concern for individuals from all walks of life. With her guiding values, she pioneered the piña embroidery industry into world fame in the 1920’s and became the first recipient of the Philippine Panday Pira Award in 1974– the highest citation ever bestowed by the Philippine Government to exemplar cottage industry entrepreneurs. Gunding died of liver cirrhosis secondary to hepatitis B infection in 1985, which could be attributed to her lowly beginnings and inaccessible hepatitis B vaccine during her prime years. The Vizcarra name represents an inspiration for the company’s employees to follow the core values, which guided Segundina Cornejo Vizcarra throughout her life.
