On February 25, 2026, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital held the Residents and Fellows White Coat Ceremony at the Duque Hall. This event marked a pivotal rite of passage for Fabella physicians as a symbol of their entry into a life of clinical public service.
The program opened with a Welcome Address by Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Salvador B. Evardone, MPH, MHA, CESE, who highlighted the profound responsibility that accompanies the donning of the white coat. Following the introduction by Dr. Janice G. Vergara, the ceremony featured an insightful keynote address from Dr. Nelinda Catherine P. Pangilinan. Drawing from her own professional journey, Dr. Pangilinan reflected on journey at DJFMH, recalling the unique challenges and triumphs that shaped her career. She emphasized that the white coat is not merely a professional uniform but a symbol of their duty and commitment held as public health doctors.
Dr. Maria Lu L. Andal, Head of PETRU presented the candidates, and was formally affirmed by Dr. Evardone. During the Donning of the White Coats, the Residents and Fellows were joined by Dr. Evardone, Chief of Medical Professional Staff II Dr. Estrella O. Jusi, Dr. Andal, and their respective Department Chairs and Training Officers. The commitment of the trainees was further solidified through the Residentsโ Declaration of Commitment led by the President of the Resident Physicians Organization Dr. Amalia Anne Corazon G. Macarandan, followed by the Oath of Hippocrates led by Dr. Jusi.
The afternoon concluded with the Oath Taking of the new Officers of the DJFMH Resident Physicians Organization and the DJFMH Fellow Physicians Organization; and closing remarks by Dr. Andal, officially ushering these doctors into a new chapter of dedicated service.
Congratulations to our Residents and Fellows!
