๐ŸŒฟ IHM Brings Herbal Medicine Training to Caritas Manila

Last October 21, 2025, the Institute of Herbal Medicine, NIHโ€“UP Manila held a dynamic Herbal Medicine Seminar-Workshop at Caritas Manila, training clinic volunteers from various Manila LGUs and several jail facilities on the safe and effective use of Philippine medicinal plants.

Dr. Cecilia C. Maramba-Lazarte and DIHM faculty including Daisy Mae Bagaoisan, Essel Tolosa and Dr. Jaime Purificacion led sessions on herbal options for common conditionsโ€”cough, colds, lice, scabies, cradle cap, arthritis, diarrhea, toothacheโ€”and guided participants through practical methods of preparing herbal remedies.

The activity strengthened community capacity to deliver accessible, evidence-based herbal healthcare, especially for vulnerable groups. ๐ŸŒฑ
