๐ข๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ก๐ง | DSA warns against cyberbullying, personal attacks in online discourse
The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to uphold and protect the rights, dignity, and welfare of every student.
We are aware of the recent concerns involving a post made by a student leader through their official page, which has drawn varied reactions from members of the University community. While we recognize and respect the right of students to express their opinions and sentiments, we strongly remind everyone that such expressions must remain within the bounds of respect, responsibility, and civility.
The proliferation of excessive and personal attacks directed at any student, regardless of position, is a matter of serious concern. Harassment, defamatory remarks, cyberbullying, and other forms of online hostility are not aligned with the values of our academic community and may constitute grounds for disciplinary action under existing university policies.
We urge all students to engage in constructive dialogue and to exercise prudence and accountability in the use of social media platforms. Disagreements must never justify hostility or personal attacks. Let us uphold a culture of respect, empathy, and intellectual maturity in all our engagements โ online and offline.
We call on the entire University community to remain guided by our shared responsibility to promote a safe, respectful, and principled academic environment.
For guidance or concerns, students may coordinate directly with the Division of Student Affairs.
