On March 22, 1966, in Seoul, Korea, the International Taekwon‐Do Federation (ITF) was officially born, under the vision of General Choi Hong Hi and with the contribution of pioneers who marked the history of our martial art. Sixty years later, in 2026, the ITFUnion proudly celebrates this anniversary, recognizing the expansion of Taekwon‐Do as a philosophy of life and cultural heritage for millions of practitioners worldwide.
The 60th anniversary calls us to honor those who shaped this legacy, to cherish the path traveled, and to reaffirm our commitment to the guiding principles: discipline, respect, unity and justice. This commemoration is a bridge between tradition and future, a reminder that history that began in 1966 continues to be written with each generation that embraces Taekwon‐Do as a path of growth and union.
El 22 de marzo de 1966, en Seúl, Corea, nació oficialmente la Federación Internacional de Taekwon‑Do (ITF), bajo la visión del General Choi Hong Hi y con el aporte de pioneros que marcaron la historia de nuestro arte marcial. Sesenta años después, en 2026, la ITFUnion celebra con orgullo este aniversario, reconociendo la expansión del Taekwon‑Do como filosofía de vida y patrimonio cultural para millones de practicantes en todo el mundo.
