The Readability Center, in partnership with the Department of Education, Division of Sulu, successfully held a free seminar-workshop on “Designing Effective Reading Remediation Programs” on September 3–5 and 9-11, 2025.
More than 150 dedicated K–6 teachers from different districts in Sulu joined the sessions, which also earned them CPD units from the PRC. The workshops were facilitated by Teachers Jaycee and Gayla from Readability Center–Main, and Teacher Shai from Readability Center–South Caloocan.
Between batches, our team visited Lower Kajatian Elementary School (Indanan), Salih Yusah Elementary School (Jolo), and Pangdanon Learning Center (Patikul). These visits provided a valuable glimpse into classroom realities, teacher experiences, and student learning—insights that will guide our mentorship program with participating teachers.
This initiative is part of our mission to empower Filipino teachers with the tools to deliver effective reading remediation, reaching more children across the country.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the men and women of the Division of Sulu for their support, especially:
Hji. Kiram K. Irilis, PhD (Schools Division Superintendent)
Dolores Gozalo (ASDS for Elementary–Designate)
Nora K. Irilis (Division Program Coordinator)

Music: Jambangan by Seven Colors
The song Jambangan is about wisdom and knowledge, and that wisdom and knowledge should spread like the fragrance of a flower.
