This boy came in at the emergency room last night due to profuse bleeding from his left wrist. He accidentally tripped while at the farm and landed his hand on a sharp bolo knife causing a laceration oh his left wrist and transecting his ulnar artery. This happened yesterday around noon. He was initially brought to a health center. When he was brought to the ER last night, he has already lost a lot of blood causing his blood pressure to go down.
Emergency room called me and i tried to rush to the hospital.
However, it was the peak of traffic.
I have an MD plate, i had my hazard on, i was on high beam, i was honking my car for people to make way for an emergency. I tried to counterflow. Patient was bleeding and time is of the essence.
Unfortunately, cars intentionally blocked my way, high beamed back on me, and honked back on me.
I still made it.
Did emergency wound exploration. Ligated the ulnar artery.
Now, Mack is ok. Hemoglobin dropped to 70. We were able to stop the bleeding and blood transfusion was done.
Mack gets to spend another christmas with his family this year.
For awareness, if you encounter a private car with MD plate, on hazard, or high beam, or honking, PLEASE DON'T BLOCK OUR WAY. We don't have the sign that says ambulance. But our MD plate and hazard is a sign that someone needs our service. It could be you or your family next time.
