The last patient for today’s consultation with the General Surgeon presented with a hard lump on one of the fingers of the hand. The patient mentioned that it does not cause any pain when moved or touched, although they have gradually noticed that the lump appears to be increasing in size.

The doctor requested an X-ray of the patient’s hand for a more thorough evaluation and noted that the patient may be referred to an Orthopedic Specialist depending on the results of the X-ray.

One of our patients today had previously consulted our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Icmat, regarding a 4–5 centimeter nail that had pierced his foot. Dr. Icmat removed the embedded nail and administered a tetanus toxoid, antibiotics, and a pain reliever to the child. Today, the patient returned for a follow-up consultation with a General Surgeon to re-evaluate the wound. According to the doctor, the child’s foot needs to be closely monitored, and the antibiotic treatment was extended to a total of 10 days.

The patient expressed concern because, according to the ultrasound results, a cyst was detected. The patient believes that the cyst is affecting urination, which is why there is a slight burning sensation.

However, based on the patient’s urinalysis results, it was found that there is a urinary tract infection. The doctor confirmed that the cyst is not related to the patient’s urination issue. The patient was given initial treatment for the infection and will be observed for one week. According to the doctor, if the patient’s condition does not improve, a referral to a urologist will be recommended for further evaluation.

The patient has been experiencing a lump on the lower side of the face. According to the patient, the lump has been present for more than five years. Initially, it appeared directly under the chin but gradually shrank and disappeared. However, it has now reappeared in another area of the face, causing the patient great concern.

The patient also mentioned that the lump sometimes decreases or increases in size after consuming salty or oily foods. He further stated that other people have started to notice the lump, which has made him feel uncomfortable.

According to our General Surgeon, the condition is identified as a swollen lymph node. The patient was given initial treatment and advised to be observed for one week.
