Gråbogården Conference and Event Center
Gråbogården Conference and Event Center located 30 minutes outside of Gothenburg Sweden is currently looking for 2 seasonal employees to perform custodial duties (cleaning and grounds maintenance) from May 2023 until October 2023 and possibly longer. Gråbogården Conference and Event Center is a privately owned business located in a beautiful lakeside setting which offers overnight stays for business conferences, weddings, birthday parties etc. The successful candidates would be provided with housing (lake side cabin with kitchen, bed, shower and toilet) as well as transportation (moped). The accommodations are shared so the 2 candidates would share the cabin and moped.
Custodian Daily Duties and Responsibilities
• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Makes beds after checkouts.
• Washes and folds bedding/towels after checkouts.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities and showers.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Cleans kitchen area after checkouts.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Maintains exterior areas and beach-front areas
• Cuts grass and trims grass with lawnmower and gas powered trimmer
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Work Hours & Benefits:
• Since Gråbogården is operated as a hotel, the days of work will vary from week to week depending on guest check in and check out times however the weekly number of hours should not exceed 40 hours
• The pay would be in SEK (Swedish Crowns) and would amount to 10,000 SEK per person per month (≈ 1,000 USD/person/month)
• Insurance as required by Swedish law
• Round trip airline tickets and pickup at airport
Custodian Qualifications / Skills:
• Excellent English skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, and cleaning solutions
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Background check
