Port Lockroy sits at the edge of the Antarctic Peninsula, a former wartime base turned heritage site and penguin research station. Today, it monitors how human footfall influences nesting success, which is why only part of the island is accessible. I mailed a postcard from the world’s most remote post office — no Wi-Fi, no rush, just snow, silence, and history held together by cold and salt air. ❄️🧊🐧
