Palliative care nurses walk beside patients and families in their most vulnerable moments. They offer comfort, and love with the care they deliver.

One of our full-time nurses, Nurse Justyne has been helping us deliver compassionate care to palliative care patients for more than a year. Her warmth and cheerful “kumusta na po kayo?” bring light to the lives of our beneficiaries every time she does home visits. ☀

Last August 5 and 6, The Ruth Foundation conducted ELNEC training in collaboration with Healthway Cancer Care Hospital and City of Hope.

This initiative brought together passionate professionals to deepen their expertise in end-of-life care. We’re especially grateful to our palliative care consultants, staff, and directors for leading the training with compassion and skill.

Together, we’re advancing compassionate care for those who need it most.

Gadgets, tools, and mechanical aids play an increasingly essential role in hospice and palliative care, offering comfort, improving quality of life, and supporting caregivers. From basic communication boards to sophisticated remote monitoring systems, these technologies allow care to be more responsive, individualized, and compassionate. Nonetheless, their use must always align with the core principles of palliative care: respect for patient autonomy, holistic care, and dignity in dying.
