Bicol Medical Center claimed two awards at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, taking home 𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿—𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 and 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 (𝗡𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆)—𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀.

The 1st Bicol Medical Center Pet Walk Activity is part of the Rabies Awareness Month Celebration with the theme "Happy Paws, Happy Path was heald at National Historical Commission of the Philippines - Museo Ni Jesse Robredo, March 22, 2026.

Parallel with National Rabies Awareness Campaign " Rabies Free na Pusa't A*o, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino" was a huge success, bringing together pet lovers, families, and health advocates in a meaningful event.

From energetic walks to adorable pets, the highlight of the event was the Blessing of Pets officiated by Rev. Joseph Olin, Bicol Medical Center Chaplain, reminding us of the special bond we share with our beloved pets and the importance of caring for them with perseverance and compassion.

Participants also gained valuable insights during the Responsible Pet Ownership Advocacy Lecturette delivered by Dr. Hazel Kay Luciano, Medical Officer III and ABTC Physician, emphasizing proper pet care, vaccination, and our role in ensuring a safe and healthy community for both humans and animals.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Dr. Ronnie Gigantone III, Medical Center Chief, Executive Committee, all participants, volunteers, and partners who made this event possible. Your enthusiasm and support truly made a difference!

Today, the 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗕𝗠𝗖) 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗠𝗦𝗪𝗗), led by Ms. Edna Ciudadano, under the Allied Health and Professional Service headed by Dr. Michellaine T. Tolentino, Division Head, and supported by Dr. Ronnie Gigantone, celebrated World Social Work Day under the theme of Harambee (meaning "all pull together").

The celebration focused on community unity and support through several key activities:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹: A ceremonial ribbon-cutting for a new installation symbolizing resilience and empathy participated by our BMC EXECOM.

𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: An educational talk at the OPD regarding existing MSWD programs and services.

𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: A gift-giving event for children in the Pedia Ward and free taho for clients at the Malasakit Center.

Today's celebration reminds us that at the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to build hope, one compassionate act at a time.
