When a patient suddenly stops breathing, every second matters. Immediate action can save a life.

💡 What should you do?
👉 Check responsiveness and call for help
👉 Open the airway (head tilt–chin lift or jaw thrust)
👉 Start rescue breathing immediately
👉 Use a bag-valve mask (BVM) with oxygen if available
👉 Monitor chest rise and ensure effective ventilation
👉 Prepare for advanced airway support if needed

In respiratory arrest, the priority is clear: secure the airway and support breathing—FAST.

WHAT TO DO WHEN?

A post-operative patient suddenly develops bradycardia—what’s your next move? 🚨

In this critical moment, quick assessment and proper action can save a life.

👉 Assess the patient immediately – check airway, breathing, circulation
👉 Look for signs of poor perfusion (hypotension, altered mental status, chest pain)
👉 Monitor ECG and identify the rhythm
👉 Provide oxygen if needed
👉 Establish IV access
👉 If symptomatic, give Atropine as first-line treatment
👉 Prepare for transcutaneous pacing if no response
👉 Consider Dopamine or Epinephrine infusion
👉 Always identify and treat the underlying cause

💡 Remember: Not all bradycardia needs treatment—but symptomatic bradycardia is an emergency.
