Did you know young people ages 13–24 accounted for 19% of new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. in 2022? In honor of National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we’re recognizing Miley Cyrus for using her platform to speak out for vulnerable youth and raise awareness around HIV.

At the amfAR Inspiration Gala in New York, Miley was honored for her contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through the Happy Hippie Foundation, which she founded in 2014, she has continued to support homeless youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and other vulnerable populations.

Today is a reminder that young people deserve accurate s*x education, access to testing, and non-judgmental support. Together, we can help build a future where all young people have the information and access to care they need to stay healthy.

HAPPENING TODAY
The iShine Center Staff, together with Talisay Social Hygiene Clinic and Minglanilla Care Hub, successfully conducted the HIV Community-Based External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) today at the Good Governance Hall, City of Naga, Cebu.

This activity, assisted by the Department of Health Region 7, ICAP, and the Sustainable Health Initiatives of the Philippines (SHIP), aims to ensure that HIV testing services remain accurate, reliable, and of high quality for the communities we serve.

Through this initiative, HIV testing providers strengthen their skills and maintain the highest standards in delivering safe and trustworthy HIV testing services.

👏 Congratulations to all participants and partners for your dedication to improving HIV services and protecting community health!

📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY

Please be informed that HIV Testing and other Services at iShine Center will be temporarily unavailable today.

All staff will be participating in the HIV Community-Based External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQA) conducted by DOH Region 7. This activity is very important as it helps ensure that HIV testing services remain accurate, reliable, and of high quality for the community.

The External Quality Assessment (EQA) is part of maintaining standards in HIV testing to guarantee that results provided to clients are correct and dependable. Through this activity, health workers enhance their skills and ensure that the services delivered meet national health standards.

HIV Testing and other Services will resume tomorrow.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support in promoting quality HIV prevention and testing services in our community.
