Health Monitoring & Medication: Managing medication schedules, administering medication, tracking vital signs, and communicating changes in health to family or doctors.
Household Maintenance: Performing light cleaning, laundry, washing dishes, and organizing the living environment to ensure safety.
Nutrition & Meal Prep: Planning, preparing, and serving meals, including feeding assistance and adherence to special dietary restrictions.
Companionship & Emotional Support: Providing emotional support, engaging in conversation, and participating in activities or hobbies to combat loneliness.
Transportation & Errands: Driving to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or other social outings.
Documentation: Keeping accurate records of care provided, daily activities, and observations.
Specific Contextual Duties:
Dementia/Memory Care: Assisting with orientation, managing behavioral symptoms, and reducing confusion.
Physical Assistance: Helping with exercises or using specialized equipment.
Caregiver roles are fluid, adapting to the changing needs of the individual, whether in a home setting or a facility.
